6 of one and half a dozen of the other

6 of one and half a dozen of the other

Steffan Wells4 Aug 2023 - 16:02

The ins, outs and who is still loving life at the Bec as we start again tomorrow...

Firstly, we would like to thank the lads that gave everything last season as they depart for a crack at step 5 and up to step 3 for one young talent...

Players' Player Eoin Fraser & Tommy Harland-Goddard can be found in the CCL Prem running games and winding each other up for Redhill. Eddie M'Bango gave Snodland the run around so much they had to sign him as they have a crack at the SCEFL Prem this season while Glebe are lucky enough to have picked up two fine young men in Jordan Williams & Nathaniel Olawole who will both make a big impact at step 5.

Lastly, 17 year old Eoin Bolger has impressed Walton & Hersham enough during pre-season that he has now signed a deal with the Step 3 outfit.

The core of last seasons team remains including top scorer Alex Keating and skipper Elijah Lewis. We've actually kept hold of our 3 top scorers so expect Alex, Steve & Alvin to be terrorising Kent defences once again and we have kept 4 of our back 5 that proved to be the best in the league last season. A great base to build on as we announce the first six of the new boys coming in to replace the half dozen we have lost:

Kenny Antony | a pacey winger who played at Fleet Spurs last season.

Storm Glautier | a fine looking defender from South Africa.

Julian Amaya | the skillful midfielder arrives from Columbia via Bridon Ropes.

Levi Bailey-Wilson | Already dubbed a young Myles who can play just about anywhere.

Asher Carless | a destroyer in the middle of the park and fashionista off it.

Tom Cullen | technically strong striker, a natural finisher who had a brief spell at Dulwich Hamlet last pre-season.

On the management side there has been movement as well with Reece Turner sadly departing for the assistant managers role at SCR but thankfully we could replace him with some much younger and better looking as we welcome Dickson Gill to the coaching staff.

More to follow as the season gets into full swing. It's been a rebuild and the lads have some big boots to fill and the opportunity to make names for themselves.

Up the Bec!
